Overview

Towards the end of 2025, I’ve built a news aggregation platform. The catch was, to try and fetch news from the most reputable sources online, and perform a process of sentiment analysis on news articles, in an attempt to filter out only the stories that had a more positive sentiment.

An MVP was built, and the testing period lasted for a coupe of months, where the results were underwhelming across various KPIs, and as such the project was indefinitely put on hold.

Highlights

• Built an automated news aggregation with a time-based task scheduler.
• Implemented a sentiment analysis pipeline for articles, utilizing Sentence Transformers.
• Developed a flutter native mobile app, connecting to the platform’s API.
